Can I have intercourse while on my period with INSTEAD® Softcup® inserted?
You may wear the INSTEAD® product during sexual intercourse. Your partner may or may not feel the product, depending upon the angle and depth of penetration. The product may also become dislodged or leakage may occur depending upon how enthusiastic intercourse is. You'll need to use your best judgment when wearing the product and having intercourse.

This can't possibly be used with a diaphragm. I have been told to use the diaphragm at all times, including with your period.
The Softcup® cannot be used with a diaphragm, or with any other vaginal device (including tampon, cervicalcap, pessary, etc.) Actually, the diaphragm acts very much like the Softcup® during menses, because it collects menstrual fluid, and can also be used during intercourse. However, since diaphragms are generally larger and more rigid than Softcup®, intercourse with a diaphragm may not be comfortable. An alternative is to use Softcup® during menses, and have your partner use a condom for pregnancy protection. But always check with your physician first.

I have just tried using your product. I love it. The only problem is, I find myself having trouble inserting it, so I was just wondering if lubrication (like KY jelly) can be used to ease insertion?
A vaginal lubricant (like KY jelly) is fine for insertion. These water-soluble lubricants are actually not as slippery as normal menstrual fluid, which is quite viscous and has a considerable amount of mucus in it. I would not recommend use of Vaseline or any other petroleum (or grease) based product. Vaseline may actually provide a nutrient base for yeast and other microorganisms in the vagina. Thus it is never recommended as a vaginal lubricant.
