Keikocorp a Miami based company who has an affiliation with Excell, a major Brazilian health care organization with headquarters in Sao Paulo - Brazil and ACPZ, a Miami-based venture capital group have announced their intention to form a joint venture operation which will specifically focus on the distribution of innovative OTC (over-the-counter) products throughout Latin America.

“We stongly believe that the formation of this new entity will prove highly beneficial for Latin American consumers as we jointly bring exciting new products to market” affirmed Adrian Cruz and Paulo Zampietro, Senior Partners of ACPZ. Luiz Guilherme Affonso, President and CEO of Keikocorp was equally enthusiastic regarding the new group. “I am excited with this new opportunity where we will blend Brazilian and US expertise in the OTC arena to bring truly unique products to market,” stated Mr Affonso

The first iniative will be the launch of the Instead soft cup in Brazil. This product will be marketed under agreement with the Instead Inc group of companies, based in San Diego. The Instead company are specialists in the Feminine Care area. The Instead soft cup has already been launched nationally in the US and has distribution in all major retail outlets, including Walmart, Walgreens, CVS and the A&P chain

The product is already registered in Brazil by Excell. It is currently being registered in Mexico, Central America and the major Carribean markets. After Brazil the first launch will take place in Mexico during the fourth quarter, 2005. The product will initially be sourced from Canada; however, an investigation is underway to determine the feasibility of manufacture in Brazil with a view of supplying Brazil and the remaining Mercosur markets

As regards product distribution, discussions are already underway with major multinational and local Latina distributors to determine final distribution agreements for these Latina launches.
