(November 8, 2011) – Women's health company Evofem today announced a new reusable addition to the Softcup line.  The reusable Softcup offers women a safe, eco-friendly and cost effective alternative to tampons and pads.  A single body-friendly reusable Softcup can be used for an entire menstrual cycle by cleaning the product regularly, at least every 12 hours. Softcup developed the reusable version with the same body-friendly design of its original product but added in a slightly thicker -- yet flexible -- reservoir for repeated use.   The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends that women change their tampons every 4-6 hours, which means that the average woman can use as many as 20 tampons during a normal menstrual cycle.  The average cost of a box of 20 tampons can range between $5 and $6.  With the reusable Softcup, women will use just one product for the entire cycle at a cost of about $2.50 per unit.
